We took on this stately manor house, bordering on the Vondelpark in Amsterdam, in full, as its cohesion had diminished over the years. The house was fully renovated and extended and its interior customized.

To begin with, the exterior of the house was fully restored in keeping with the original details and colors. In addition, the entire floor was lowered to increase the height of the ceiling in the basement and to create a home cinema. The basement was also enlarged at the rear of the residence with a contemporary extension that serves as an office and guest quarters. The interior consisted of a tailor-made kitchen, which, by way of a vide, creates a link between the living areas on the first floor. The bathrooms and furnishings were also tailor-made for the client.

‘The minimalistic Japanese garden, with its Ipé wood elements, concrete, Japanese black stones and greenery creates a serene, Asian feel.’
