Construction and interior
2016 – 2017
We built a new villa with a tailor-made interior for a private client. The kitchen is outfitted in American oak in Wengé oil, which contrasts nicely with the oak, herringbone floor. The work surface of the kitchen island and wall unit is made of Calcatta marble. The faucet is from Vola and the gas stove is from Pitt Cooking.
The marble used was carefully selected from the Italian marble quarry in the city, Carrara, in north-west Tuscany, and consists of a single piece, including the corners, which allows the natural lines to flow beautifully over the edges. The island is outfitted with a wine refrigerator, placed in such a way that it catches the eye from the living room. The extractor hood above the cooking island is located in a slightly lowered, plastered strip that also incorporates the lighting. The Pitt Cooking gas stove consists only of burners and knobs, creating a minimalistic yet warm result.
The walk-in closet we created on the upper floor is light grey with recessed handles.
“The marble consists of a single piece, allowing the natural lines to flow beautifully over the edges.”
